Saturday AM update for Bella

Well Bella did pretty well this early morning. She got her CT and EEG scan and we are waiting on results for her. She is still having issues with apnea episodes. They vary from little ones that she will get herself out of it and others that need you to say- Hey wake up and breathe! It only happens when she sleep. It is almost as if you are so relaxed that you forget to breathe.

We need to keep telling ourselves that this is common in preemies and that she in good hands. She is being monitored in the step down unit of the NICU. So instead of 1 NICU nurse with 2 babies, it would be a NICU nurse with like 3 to 4 babies since they are not as severe. It also allows us to learn and practice baby basics- feeding, changing, swaddling, bathing, etc.

We are waiting to hear back from the Ronald McDonald House on if there is room available for us. If there is, Kristen is getting discharged and we can go home and get more clothes and see Jupi (maybe have a home cooked meal). Then to head over and see Bella again.

Bella is becoming a nurse favorite. Many nurses who have had her in the past few days are visiting during lunch to check up on her and us.

We cannot wait for everyone to see Bella- We really appreciate the calls, texts and emails. We try to update you as soon as possible. Right now all we do is: SLEEP and THINK about Bella, with some occasional eating and we would not want it any other way.

So we are still not going to have people start coming in to see her. Especially with the Grandparents here and the stricter visiting rules for her in the Step Down Unit.

Will post an evening update as soon as we know what is going on and where we are going.

Thanks
